Who provides the camera, and what if a student does not have one
The 360 camera is standard consumer hardware, not proprietary equipment: institutions typically buy a pool of cameras and lend them out through the testing center or library, the way calculators and clickers are handled today. Programs can also let students purchase their own compatible camera.
The camera is required only when an assessment's policy tier calls for it. Exams configured without a 360 requirement run on the student's standard webcam, so no student is ever locked out of an assessment for lack of hardware.
